Our History

Where It All Began

In the summer of 2002, Clint took a new path in children’s ministry. With a wide-open summer, there were no restrictions on what could be done. After attending multiple conferences and First Group Shotthrough personal observance, research, and much prayer, a new vision was realized to teach children how to have a daily personal relationship with Christ and to train and equip them for ministry. Parents were called to commit to disciple their children and encourage them as they grew in their walk with Christ. One of our first tasks was to teach children to share the Gospel and then release them to do so. About four weeks after L.I.T. began, we did our first mission trip in a local apartment complex. It was there that we witnessed three sixth graders lead three children to Christ. After sitting down and talking with the children afterwards, I knew for certain that they had trusted Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Two years later, we took our first out-of-city mission trip to Corpus Christi, Texas. It was there that we witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of children. As they proclaimed to Gospel, God’s Spirit fell, and they led 27 children and teens to Christ.

In 2005, other churches began to desire to use L.I.T. resources at their churches. That summer, we took 50 preteens and adults on our second mission trip to Jersey Village, Texas, where they led more than 50 children to Christ. This past summer (2015), we had 18 churches attend L.I.T. Mission Trips in Texas and Oklahoma with more than 340 in attendance.

In the summer of 2006, after witnessing rapid transformation of preteens in L.I.T., we started Nehemiah Kids. We began to see the same changes in younger children, so we fully developed the process for 1st through 4th grades.

On August 26, 2010, we registered as a non-profit 501(c)(3) under the name CDM International (Children Discipleship Ministries). That year, we began the publishing process of the L.I.T. student devotional (Bible study) books. On January 6, 2014, CDM became L.I.T Ministries.

As of today, L.I.T. Ministries has published more than 28 books, including student devotionals, a Parent Handbook, Prayer Journals, Disciple Group Leader Guides, evangelistic Bible studies, Counseling Cards, and new Christian materials. What the Lord began in 2002 has impacted thousands of children, preteens, and students in the church today and is now moving toward an international impact!
