About Us
Leaders In Training (L.I.T.) was founded by Dr. Clint May in the summer of 2002. This ministry is focused on the discipleship of children and empowering them for ministry in the church and on mission.
On May 8, 2002, Clint became the Children’s Minister at Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
That summer was wide open for him to follow God’s leading to disciple and train preteens (5th-6th graders) for ministry and missions.
As Clint took this ministry path of teaching spiritual disciplines and equipping children for ministry using their spiritual gifts, he witnessed a transformation in the lives of children as they learned how to walk daily with Christ.
Clint also witnessed the children’s ability to effectively share the Gospel and lead children to Christ that summer.

In the summer of 2004, Clint took 35 preteens and adults from Fort Worth on a mission trip to Corpus Christi, Texas.
While on the trip, preteens were trained and released in local apartments to
• lead worship,
• teach evangelistic Bible studies,
• teach crafts, and
• counsel lost children.
During this trip, God moved powerfully in and through the lives of the preteens. They led 27 children and students to Christ!
L.I.T. Ministries has sponsored 36 mission trips in seven states since 2004.
• More than 3,875 preteens and students have reached thousands of children and their families with the Gospel.
• They have led at least 1,600 children to Christ.
• About 50 churches have taken part in the mission trips.
The Expansion of Our Discipleship Vision to Other Churches
In 2006, other churches started requesting discipleship materials. They showed interest in beginning L.I.T. and had a desire to experience the joy of discipling children.
L.I.T. has now published more than 72 student devotional books, leader guides, and evangelistic tools for discipling children, preteens, and students. The materials have been translated into multiple languages and are being used internationally.
Empowering The Next Generation (ETNG) Training Conferences
In the fall of 2015, Clint’s passion for training leaders resulted in the development of our ETNG Handbook.
• This handbook has been used to train more than 5,000 leaders worldwide in about 18 countries.
• One of our trained leaders has trained at least 2,000 leaders in six countries in Africa.
• The handbook has been translated into thirteen languages.
• Our leadership training is offered at no cost to third-world countries internationally.
L.I.T. Ministries 501(c)(3)
CDM (Children Discipleship Ministries) International was registered as a non-profit 501(c)(3) on August 26, 2010. On December 30, 2013, the ministry changed its name to L.I.T. Ministries.
Celebrating 22 Years of Ministry
L.I.T. Ministries Values
We Value Children. We believe that children are the church today, not just the future. When a child accepts Christ, they are sealed by the Holy Spirit and gifted by the Spirit for works of ministry. We are called to disciple and equip children to fulfill their purpose in the church and the world to make disciples of all nations.
We Value the Church. We recognize the church’s call to make disciples and to equip the saints for works of ministry. We are committed to providing training and resources to disciple and equip the next generation in the church—through training events, live webinars, and website training videos.
We Value Families. We recognize that parents are biblically responsible for teaching their children the truths of God’s Word. We are committed to providing resources to help them effectively disciple their child.
We Value Missions. We are committed to organizing mission trips that bring the church together with a shared vision of releasing children and students to be on mission for Christ. By sponsoring yearly mission trips, we empower the next generation with the purpose of sharing the Gospel and creating new ministry opportunities in the United States and internationally.
