You Never Know What You’ll Get When You Say, “I Surrender”

I remember like it was yesterday. I knelt down beside my bed in Buena Vista, Colorado, in October 1984, and I said, “Lord, I surrender. If you will get me out of this mess I am in, I will do whatever You wish.” Wow! I never knew at the274508264 502618494632643 3142888752760201243 n time what that meant. I was perfectly happy living in the mountains of Colorado. However, the Lord had a better plan. Soon after I surrendered my life to the Lord, it was as if I started “The Great Adventure.” My life was completely different. I quickly felt the tug on my heart to surrender to ministry. So, in January 1989, I began my seminary training. Three months later, I was called to the position of children’s pastor at a church near the seminary. I have been working with children ever since.

Fast forward to 2002 when I started a new position at Wedgwood Baptist Church as their Minister of Childhood Education. That summer, we started a new ministry for preteens called L.I.T. (Leaders In Training). At that time, the Lord opened my eyes to the amazing plan He has for children in the church.

Today, I serve full-time as president of L.I.T. Ministries. God has expanded what He started in Fort Worth, Texas, throughout the world. On March 2 and 3, I am privileged to lead a training event online for pastors in India. That’s right, India! We are doing this in partnership with Victory Baptist Association. The conference will be live and online in Gudivada, Hanuman Junction, Gannavaram, and Pamarru. We covet your prayers for no internet issues during the training. I will be teaching from 9:30 p.m.-midnight while in India, it will be 9:00 a.m.-noon.

We appreciate your prayers so much. This ministry belongs to the Lord, and it is an honor to serve Him. All praise goes to Him who is worthy of all our praise.

Blessings,

Dr. Clint May

President, L.I.T. Ministries

Brynleigh, 2nd Grade Evangelist

It has been a joy reflecting back over the years on some of our favorite interviews with children. Brynleigh is a bold 2nd grader. Here is her story:

“The other day on the bus, we were kind of just talking about Christian-type things and so we asked the girl next to us, Sydney, if she knew anything about Jesus and she said ‘no.’ And so meBrynleigh and Gracie just looked at each other and then we started telling her about Jesus. We just told her Bible stories, and some of them were just mixed all together at the same time. We told her a lot about Heaven, and then we told her all what would happen if she didn’t know about Jesus. So, I said, ‘Do you want to go to Heaven?’ And she said, ‘No.’ And I said, ‘Why?’ And she said, ‘Well, I don’t what to be with the devil.’ And I said, ‘Well, the devil was cast down to Hell because he didn’t want to serve God.’ So then I said, ‘You’d only be with God.’ Then a couple minutes later after explaining all what would’ve happened, then we both said, ‘Do you want to go to Heaven?’ And she said, ‘Yes.’ And then I prayed with her.” Click here to watch her video testimony.
