Writing Sermons at Age 12

L.I.T. June 2026 Newsletter

Delayna, who is now age 17, leads worship for the student ministry on Sunday mornings and for L.I.T. at her church on Monday evenings. She started L.I.T. at Church Alive when she was in the third grade.

Delayna shares, “I remember before our first street mission trip that I wrote so many sermons. I remember I was so eager to preach it. I was thinking, ‘Someone needs to hear this.’ I could see something there that I felt God was nudging me to do. I can look back now on how God was preparing me for today through L.I.T.” Check out our YouTube channel for more stories and testimonies.

Fruit of Labor in Tanzania, Becky Willard

In 2021, Paul Mamba joined the mission of Hope Is Strong Ministries in Tanzania, helping lead discipleship training (Empowering The Next Generation Training) for local children’s leaders. Over the years, we have witnessed the lasting impact of those teachings in the lives of the children. Sixteen-year-old Joseph, affectionately known as “Preacher” by his classmates, boldly shares his faith wherever he goes. Another sixteen-year-old, Mary, is reaching beyond the walls of her church to share the Gospel with her classmates and community.

24 Years of Impact—and We’re Just Getting Started, Dr. Clint May

Our team has been working diligently to create a fresh, easy-to-navigate website designed specifically for churches, children's leaders, parents, and ministry teams.

The heart of the website is centered on one of our most impactful ministries—Leaders In Training (L.I.T.). What began more than 24 years ago as a vision to disciple and equip preteens has grown into a movement that has impacted thousands of children, families, churches, and communities across the United States and around the world.

Through daily discipleship, mentorship, ministry opportunities, mission trips, and leadership training, we have watched God raise up young believers who are boldly living for Christ and sharing the Gospel with others. Today, that same vision is spreading internationally as leaders in multiple countries are embracing the L.I.T. model and investing in the next generation.

We invite you to explore the new website, discover our resources, learn about our mission, and see how God is using children and preteens to make an eternal impact. Click here to check out the website.

Pray for Our Mission Trips — June 21–26

On June 21–26, we have two mission trips taking place in Hudsonville, Michigan, and Norman, Oklahoma. Please pray that the Lord will move powerfully in both locations as preteens from four churches participate in what will be one of the most impactful experiences of their lives.

These trips have a twofold impact: many children will come to know Christ through these preteen missionaries, and the preteens themselves will experience the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in a life-changing way as they share the Gospel and minister to others. Please pray that many children will meet the Savior and that these preteens will grow deeper in their faith through all that God does during this week.
